Are there any good biographies on Thatcher? I really admire her, especially for how she crushed the left, but it's hard to get a true understanding of her underlying personality.

Northerner here

All you really need to know is that Thatcher ruined any other city's chance at developing as much as London's had in the UK since she moved all business there.

Wasn't necessarily a bad PM like a lot of people here in the north like to paint her as but she took a lot of risks and I admire how ballsy she was when it came to certain decisions.

>> No.6806745

Though not a biography I recommend you check out "The Myth of the Strong Leader: Political Leadership in the Modern Age" by Archie Brown. It has a lot of information about how she ruled and her personality.

I think its really sad that people on this website have had such a stunted development that they'd go to the extent of admiring Thatcher due to the fact they associate 'the left' as a caricature of of whatever SJW values they hate.

Not anything radical, or particuarly socialist, I bet. Regardless of rhetoric, these "leftist' parties all capitulate once in power anyway, pretending gay marriage or marijuana legalisation are the most pressing issues of our times.
