Should love have an important role in human life?

Ought we love?

>> No.6803799

Why do you think love exists?

>> No.6803819

love is more thicker than forget
more thinner than recall
more seldom than a wave is wet
more frequent than to fail

it is most mad and moonly
and less it shall unbe
than all the sea which only
is deeper than the sea

love is less always than to win
less never than alive
less bigger than the least begin
less littler than forgive

it is most sane and sunly
and more it cannot die
than all the sky which only
is higher than the sky

>> No.6803826

The box you currently attempt to avoid conceptualizing within is the box of things intrinsic to humanity and the human experience. It is not only futile, but banal, and the mark of a person who has yet to truly begin their education.

Love is the driving force behind life. Literally, it's what keeps parents around to raise their children and allows for grouping. Even sharks seem to love food.

There's no such thing, nigger. Some people go through their whole lives without love; schizoid people are often aromantic. Now what?

Anyway, you could argue that rationality isn't intrinsic to humanity, since feral children won't have it.

You got his meaning: people tend to love and value that sensation a lot.

>all love is romantic

Well, that is the modern definition of the word, and it's a lot more recent than marriage for pragmatism. In any case, I would say that "love" at minimum, requires some kind of empathy - another trait which is hardly universal.

>Anyway, you could argue that rationality isn't intrinsic to humanity, since feral children won't have it.

It isn't; our modern concept of reasoned logic has taken thousands of years to sharpen. Deference to authority for knowledge was much more prevalent.

Regarding feral kids... I don't quite see your point. Yes, the fact that humans raised in specific conditions become "feral" shows that "civilized" traits are learned, not intrinsic. You disregard these human outliers as a trivial nuisance to your blanket concept of human nature, when really, they disprove it.

>You got his meaning: people tend to love and value that sensation a lot

I understand that he's talking about common tendencies, but his assertion that these habits are intrinsic rather than learned is completely unfounded.
