Where can I download ebooks, other than torrents and libgen?
I tried using #bookz but I can't seem to connect to the server

>> No.6760873

I use #bookz just fine.
What is libgen? Looks like it's down, regardless.

yes they change the domain often because it is illegal
and what country do you live in? I think #bookz only works for EU and US, right?

oh it works very well for me but there is a certain book I can't find anywhere!
Do you know if #bookz works for people outside of the EU and US? because maybe I just need faster connection or something?

Can you tell me what I'm missing? The links just give me empty responses.

Use a different mirror other than the libgen mirror. Ie, click one of the blue links on the page of the book that doesn't say libgen.org

mobilism.org

Yes, 90% of the site is dedicated to mobile apps, but the eBooks section, while not large, has some good classics in decent editions.

does #bookz have a lot of non-english books? I won't read a translation of a German or French book if I can read the original just fine..

do they have .MOBI extensions?
Or should I convert all .PDF's to be able to read on a Kindle (I'm thinking of buying one, orry if this sounds kinda noobish)

Also, is Kindle worth the buy?
Are there other, perhaps better alternatives in terms of being able to read certain file types? (I know a Kobo can read other things, but I read they don't always work when they aren't bought from the store)

isn't it worse to read on a screen rather than just on paper?

I use UB reader, and download EPUB, it makes reading easy, because the text is big

Isn't UB reader simply a program to be able to read on a tablet/PC?

Yes, I thought that is what he was asking for

most of them are pretty sketchy, asking for credit details and "installing" the books don't trust

>> No.6764359

>>6764317 you're probably referring to some of the last few entries. I just recently added them to the list and haven't tested them that much.

I didn't get asked for such stuff though. Maybe you don't have an adblocker?

Using calibre to change file types to mobi for a kindle is easy. Kobo is pretty shitty, based on my personal experience.

In before Kobo defenders out the ass. It really doesn't matter what kind of reader you get, as it's simple to convert between file types, try them out in best buy or some other electronics store

I think they're blocking US IP addresses.
