Is there any book that captures both the comedy and tragedy of our lives so perfectly? It's like Dostoevsky knew 4chan would exist and wrote a book about it.

I'd like to think it extends more than just 4chanian culture but he probably something of that nature would emerge

even though it has nothing to do with 4chan

Steppenwolf is another good one. The Underground Man is like, the pre-character to the character in Steppenwolf.. Kinda.

Notes is a fantastic novel, that examines the solitude and accompanying emotions/situations that arise from being 'underground', or in other words, thinking in a manner that is incongruent with society. That's very similiar to 4chan, and a variety of other subcultures (hippies, lgbt, intellectuals, etc). That's all 4chan is, a place where all the misfits come to finally have someone who says "holy crap, me too". Because really, that's all life is really about. That's even why we read to a degree. Average IQ on 4chan is decently higher than the average nobody working a 9 - 5. The ideas discussed here are amazing when you really think about it, as is the manner in which they're discussed (anonymously). I must say, as lame as it sounds, I'm proud to belong to this group, in such a fulfilling, cosmically improbable way. There's really something special happening on 4chan, as well as with the Internet in general.

Not on the level of Based Fyodor(very little is)

But this book is probably what you're looking for.

The MC is the ultimate neckbeard.

Catch 22 goes all over the map, it captures the madness and absurdity of our lives at first as a comedy then as a tragedy.
