>> No.6675760

I'm not going to post mine but I am going to click on everybody else's, hit "compare books," and make fun of you

>>6674703
You really overuse to-read, it makes this compare books thing almost useless. 146 books on the to-read stack, huh? I also love A Painful Case though, and your reviews seem fairly lucid, so you're okay.

>>6674743
5 read and 47 to-read...this is really who posts on this board. Nice job falling for the meme of "start with the writers you're actually supposed to start with and every western literature survey course agrees," it really exposes you as a noob.

>>6674950
Okay, I'm the retarded one, I guess. 55 read and 157 to-read? How is that a useful list of books you want to read? I don't think my to-read has ever hit 30, it's just a mess of books any bigger than that. But I guess I'M the one using this site wrong. Anyway I don't get why you'd read all the HP books and rate them all 1, if you think they suck that much why not quit?

>>6674977
400 read, 707 to-read. What's so bad about Piketty's Capital (2 stars)? I just started reading it. Mostly pretty good taste, though I'm extremely triggered by you rating Invisible Cities and Huck Finn (2 stars) below Invisible Monsters (3 stars).

>>6675194
Orwell and Huxley, that's some good shit...if you're a hippie grad student in the 60s!!! Just kidding you're alright. I realized I'm bad at making fun people because I'm not that mean, or funny.

>>6675263
if I had more self-respect I would also not use the dumb rating system but that makes you hard to make fun of. I hope you're enjoying C&P though it's one of my favorite novels.

>>6675292
Front page of your profile: Palahniuk, Eggers, Douglas Adams, and Kurt Vonnegut. I would try harder to make fun of you but you seem to actually read, unlike most of the other people. If you like No Logo (I did) you'll probably want to read Klein's more famous book (Shock Doctrine), which I found really underwhelming in comparison. Also dude I understand the appeal of people like Eggers but Palahniuk is legitimately terrible.

>>6675304
I didn't hate humans before I clicked on your profile, but now I do!!!!!!1 because you gave 4 stars to Freakonomics

>>6675640
Our overlap is meme authors and Montaigne. I gave up on this post being good about halfway through the first one.

>>6675760
If you don't have thousands of books on your to read list then you're doing it VERY wrong

>> No.6675802

>>6675784
Apparently? I've always used it as "books I am actually going to read, soon" instead of "books I would like to read eventually." Latter seems useless to me, but whatever.

>if I had more self-respect I would also not use the dumb rating system but that makes you hard to make fun of.
lol
i just feel weird rating books, i'm not sure why. maybe if i would have read more i would rate but i mostly use it recently to catalog what i'm reading/what i've read read/what i want to read

it's useful for keeping track of books one might like to buy, ss at some point one is gonna exhaust they're local bookstores or will be faced with the infinite choice without a guide that is online shopping without an amazon wishlist.
That's what I use it for, anyways.
