The greateat thing about the so called Smug Pepe meme is that it is a criticique made by the very ones being critiqued! It is in Anons rabid self criticism and loathing that we truly understand this sector of schniff modern Western capitalist societies; not the taping of these eternal children by some spooky fat cat boogeymen but their own conscious we vision to remain man children schniff to capitalize on its advantages. In this way schniff the true capitalist IS the victim of capitalism himself!

The meme of the Pepe is real simple, it's only the fact he's french and edgy that people think it's a deep philosophical meme. Unlike previous generations of memes, whose role on the internet was pre-determined by rigid social stratifications, people now have the freedom (key word) to do whatever they like (to a large degree). However, with meme having gone the same way as old memes, both of which provided structure to the impoverished social life of the masses, there is now an anxiety about one's life which involves it's meaning, or lack thereof. What Pepe Meme is doing by referring to the myth of saying that the appeal suicide has because of life's apparent pointlessness can only be remedied by a dogged persistance to continue living with a smug frog grin on your face, with a sort of ironic knowledge that there is ultimatelty nothing (no spiritual reward, no service for agrand idealogy), that treating it absurdly, that is to say with some irony that the Pepe Meme the only known remedy to existential angst.

Pepe is a meme. As it is a meme, it is also shit. The internet is a metaphysical human centipede whereby the excrement and offal of content passes from one anus to the mouth of the next, over and over again until the original joke is no more than a shallow limp husk devoid of life or originality.

Pepe is old, quite old. It's not even really that funny, never has been. The entire humor it has is built upon familiarity and the ease with which somebody can contribute. In short, it is funny because it is referential. They are worth nothing.
