that kvothe of many names is the edgiest character. Not even complex, his clearly some bohemian liberal. Still kept reading, one of the most similar but slightly better fantasy I dabbled in was the night angel trilogy.

This whole book just seemed kinda generic but still really enjoyable for the same reason Indiana jones or something along those lines it

I thought /lit/ hated YA novels.

yeah it really peaked my imagination, I was able to vividly picture this world and it was pretty comfy. There story was super shitty, cliche and as you say generic.

Worst part I nearly tore the book up and by far the most cringe worthy part was when he met that "beauty" fairy and had timeless sex training in some hyperbolic time chamber with this apparent beauty who never lets men go to become some alpha love machine

I agree however im anxious awaiting the next book for some reason. I think the series would make for a great television show though.

All the sword skills he learned sort of reminded me of what Rand learned in the Wheel of Time series.

I was gonna start reading this but I heard the first book was a slog and only the final act was enjoyable. Is that true?
