I want to attempt to get into philosophy. In which area should I begin? I plan on reading every single book (if possible) or my Worker's vacation, which will last for a month.

I've no friends, so, yeah. I believe it to be possible.

This is a good reader for an introduction. It's got the fragments of the pre-socratics moving in towards a great deal of Plato and Aristotle's texts, with the entirety of Republic as well.

Read what you like, but be aware that starting with the original progenitors of philosophy is always the best idea. Everyone here says start with the Greeks, but Eastern philosophy is just as valid (and more compelling in my opinion), so be aware of that.

Philosophy isn't good to rush through, especially if you are a beginner, so much of it will go over your head unless you really take allot of time per chapter. I would suggest Copplestone's History Of Philosophy and then just pick and chose what you like from there to continue on with.
