It took me three times to read it correctly. I wonder if my subconscious is trying to tell me something.

Many factors such as agenda, who, what, where, why but the biggest of them all is the hive mind construct of a group. No one is themselves in terms of personality, you reflect, react and follow influences by a group. An individuals influence comes from within, there personality doesn't need to change or adapt. This is entirely assuming the individuals are indeed individualized as they're parallel you can't have a group without an individual but you can have an individual without a group. If someone is individual or a collective are individuals then they are not a group. If you get individuals together then they become a group. However they are no longer individuals once they become a group. To define when it is a group comes down to social judgement and perception.

An individual has self awareness, a group does not.

That's about it really, other than that, an group behaves like a giant individual.

In individuals insanity is rare. But in groups it is the norm.

A group of people has a 'spirit' element to it. You know how it is when you get a good group of your friends together, it's much different than any one-on-one. There's a sense of excitement and more. It's similar to how the relation between God and Christ begot The Holy Spirit.

Individuals are real, but the "group" as a conceptual entity is a spook.

>conceptual entity
The concept is derivative of the more phenomenologically basic "they" which Dasein is most of the time in its average everydayness.

No, but a collection of people create another 'person' kind of thingy.
