Did you spend all week coming up with that analogy, with the intention to shitpost?

i think it's ok as long as you recognize it for what it is which is vapid empty escapism. read all the YA you want, but realize there's almost nothing to gain from it. Who knows, there might be some YA with merit but it's overshadowed by all the crap.

Does The Catcher In The Rye count as YA fiction? If it is then I guess it is a YA book with merit.

but is it in the same vein as current YA? for some reason I feel Citr is different that today's output, which is a stepping stone for alot of new writers that either want to cash in on the craze or dont know how to wirte better.
