Is /lit/ the most uniformally hostile board on 4chan?

Why is that?

>> No.6579467

We're all patricians here, we don't have time for the uninformed plebeian opinions of other boards.

It isn't, have you been to /v/?

>> No.6579479

It's one of the most autistic

Not even close nigga, there are a dozen boards more hostile.

Broaden your 4chins horizons, nigga.

This guy is on to it.

If you come here to get recommendations for some shit-tier series you can fuck off.

Also, I don't know why I said nigga, twice no less.

Urban youths are corrupting my mind.

>> No.6579514

There's worse. I used to go on /v/, before I stopped playing video games as much and got back into reading, and there's no such thing as discussion there. They pretend it's because they don't want any "reddit circlejerks" but it's really obvious that they're all just too busy trying to look snarky and cool. Wasn't always like that, sadly, but its user base has a really high opinion of itself and that's annoying.

>Is /lit/ the most uniformally hostile board on 4chan?
I don't know.

>Why is that?
I haven't browsed any other boards recently.

Not from what I've seen. A bit cynical sometimes, and they like to try and show off how smart they are, but I haven't seen too much genuine unkindness.

completely agree, it's strange how collective board culture elicits an insecurity and subsequent hive-mind in its users as seen on /v/.

/a/ is the most hostile

because it is full of under-age americans who think the know everything.

/tv/ strikes me a lot more belligerent. In particular the damned if you do, damned if you don't is presence there where if you talk about "esoteric" films you're labelled a pretentious tryhard, and if you talk about any "mainstream" film you're labelled a pleb. Yet somehow every single film ever made falls into one of these two catagories.

That's all of 4chan, though.

Mainly beause it's full of emotionally stunted Pedos and women too dumb to troll b

>> No.6579574

The most annoying thing about this board, and also the most cowardly, is when someone writes out an argument or explanation for something and the only response other anons can manage is "shit" or "that's the most retarded thing i've ever read", etc. Basically, responses which offer no counterargument or refutation.

>>6579558
>and if you talk about any "mainstream" film you're labelled a pleb.

Well the thing is, 90% of their discussion is on mainstream blockbuster garbage anyway. We may be derisive of the plebs but at least he don't read YA fiction all the time.

That happens in every board.

Well, then it's the most annoying thing about this website. /lit/ is the only board I've ever gone on.

/lit/ became so toxic and self-absorbed that other communities began to take notice, such as tumblr and reddit, and more and more new users discovered /lit/. Some became delusional, while others fed the delusions by creating endless troll threads which turned into board-wide beliefs. Ironically, /lit/, once a small creative community where diversity was celebrated and green-text stories were shared, became so toxic that the mainstream internet community began using its memes in a sick parody of what they once were. And that, my friends, is the downfall of the robots. Good night.

>this happens on every forum and messageboard

Not to the extent that it happens here. Most forums requires usernames and have stricter rules, so people are less inclined to shitpost and will actually argue their point.

But even if it was the case that all boards are like that, that doesn't make this board doing it any less awful.

>> No.6579634

>>6579460

We need to be hostile to keep out the barbarians at the gates. Plebs, /pol/tards, kids trying to get help on their homework, autistic STEMfags...

>> No.6579675

Enough with the metashit threads.

>> No.6579893

The most painfully elitist board I know of is /mu/. The whole identity of the board is identifying with lesser known artists, and if you stray too far from the few accepted genres you will be endlessly insulted. Like jazz? Pretentious hipster, fuck off. Like rock? Lol go away dad. Metal? Hahaha fucking 12 year old retard.

I can't stand those people.

/lit/ tends to be retarded with its literature-genre fiction bullshit, but there are some threads on it usually.

>> No.6579934

We have standards. I prefer less posting and more quality than a thousand threads defending shit.
Anyway, a board is just the middle ground between all the posters, if it's shit maybe you're just shit yourself.
