What do you think about it, and what other works by Calvino are worthwhile?

>> No.6535814

Loved it. Don't expect his other books to be similar though, though in general they're all pretty good.

Good fun book there. The short stories in 'Adam one Afternoon' are less consistent, but sometimes amazing. 'Marcovaldo' is very lightweight but enjoyable.

Enjoyable. Invisible Cities is also a fun distraction.

The Nonexistent Knight is awesome.

Calvino is win win.

>> No.6535986

Pretty great. I had enjoyed The Baron in the Trees for the titular baron and his adventures.

Something about Calvino's books feels pretty comfy. I am not sure how to describe it.

Great book, almost finished it. Also love invisible cities and the distance to the moon. Like kafka, he has the incredible ability to create beautiful images without really difficult prose

Dude I know I was like tearing up at the setimentality in the fucking first chapter of The Baron in the Trees
>>6536003
I am not about cosmicomics, man. I don't know if it's just too abstract or yhe translation or what but I just can't get into or care about really any of the stories even if there is pretty imagery.

I wish he had something else like If on a winter's night, but fairy tales are nice too.

I thought it was neat, but actually prefer Calvino's simpler works. There is something of an innocence to his writing I love. Baron in The Trees and Cosmicomics are favorites.

Our Ancestors is fun.

All Calvino is worthwhile, in my experience.

Excellent. After a few chapters i was worried it would feel gimmicky pretty quickly, but it really carried it off. Just read invisible cities, enjoyable but not as good as IOAWNAT.
