I hardly enjoy rap anymore, and I'm rarely inclined to designate any rap as serious poetry, but I dare you to tell me that Lifestylez ov da Poor and Dangerous isn't, collectively, a superb and unsurpassed statement of street poetry.

I agree. I was only into underground metal & punk in addition to 60's dadrock until Big L, Immortal Technique, & GZA convinced me hip hop could be quality. Had similar experiences hearing Kraftwerk and Johnny Cash for the first time, a true horizon broadening experience.
That said, people can call hip hop poetry all day it still doesnt make it anymore /lit/ than old church hymns

The point is that there is no poetic merit you fucking idiot. Even compared to a shitlord like Bukowski.

Also, you have god awful taste in hip hop. I mean really, recommending Immortal Technique to somebody? Fucking Christ man.

wasn't expecting to see this on /lit/. L was one of nicest of all time, sick lyrics, punchlines, flow, etc.

whether L or eminem were the best lyrically is debatable but I'd lean towards L.

its factually inaccurate in the sense that jews didnt run the record labels that initially put hip hop into the white world, it was sleaze ass black dudes like Puff Daddy and Suge Knight. big, established labels got on board after the fact.

The principle is still the same, interesting stuff.

>> No.6524028

I first listened to Big L on Christmas after I had spent about $200 on CDs at various stores. Shit blew me away.

>> No.6524036

>>6524013

The principle is actually the opposite. As with so much else agitprop about race, malevolence on the part of some big spooky cabal of baby-eating genocidal wackos is made up out of the whole cloth to replace simple greed and apathy on the part of fucked up nobodies with nothing to live for.

Also the affinity white youths have displayed for whatever fucking gay watered down suburbanized version of "black culture" that hip hop has brought to them is indicative of profound malaise and last-manhood on the part of western society which doesnt have a fucking thing to do with jews or negroes but everything to do with the dehumanizing and emasculating power that technology has assumed over western society in the last fifty years, but whatever.

I don't know what your objection to technique is he's well liked and respected amongst mainstream and underground fans of hip hop which is a rarity nowadays. Oh wait that's it! Too many people like him so he can't be good.

>jews didnt run the record labels that initially put hip hop into the white world, it was sleaze ass black dudes like Puff Daddy and Suge Knight
Lol, no. Puff Daddy and Suge Knight made lots of money and got shoutouts in rap songs but they had zero distribution power compared to actual music executives like Michael Koch, Jimmy Iovine, and Ted Field. Outside of their insular local bubbles, they were not putting jackshit into the "white" world. Look back at the history of their respective labels and you will see that there was always a corporate hand feeding their success and popularity.
