No one can hold against this, it requires a clear mind to see how despairing everything is.

This book left me shaken and anxious for a while, but once I took it seriously, I felt incredible serenity, it was surreal

Can this be read and understood by a moron with little experience reading philosophy?

More like, it's made for people who know nothing about philosophy.

Actually the autor goes in a rant against philosophy and ultimately refers to Nietzsche and Schopenhauer

A ostentatious title like this is no better than Buzzfeed clickbait. I'm sure the content is equally vapid.

Who are you quoting in this post?

You're probably a troll, but I'm going to respond anyway.

I thought the book was interesting. I think he's right that most people find pessimism too revolting to even seriously consider. I also tend to agree with the idea of "negative utilitarianism," to some extent; the infliction of certain types of suffering cannot be outweighed by other goods. Ursula Le Guin's "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" illustrates that idea pretty well.

However, I still don't think that necessarily leads inescapably to antinatalism. The fact that very few people commit suicide - even people who live in abject conditions - would seem to indicate that most people value life even over tremendous suffering. And, given my position as a relatively well-to-do person in Western society, I think I could plausibly argue that my children are highly likely to have a positive life experience, at least insofar as it's in my power. And insofar as it is not in my power, I don't think I can be held responsible.

Everything that happens to them is within your power since you spawned them. It's in your power not to spawn them and therefore prevent any possible horror that could happen to them.

When your kid gets raped by a teacher, it is still your responsibility. After all, if the kid didn't get born it wouldn't have gotten raped either.

People every now and then end up raping other people, doesn't mean that basically anyone finds rape a moral good/permissible.
