Been reading some material from the Beats and found Kerouac's list of writing rules.

One of them is 'never get drunk outside your own house' and I was just wondering what the hell Kerouac meant by that?

What reasons would he have? Can you absorb more? Not be as clouded?

kerouac was more likely than not super lit when he wrote that and didn't mean anything at all. he got drunk all over the place.
