Obviously I have started with the Greeks, but which of Plato's writings should I (re)read before jumping into Schopenhauer? What about Hinduism? I thought buddhism is what Schopie A was all about but there is a quote of him siting hindus as an influence

Read Meno, The Republic, and if you have time Theaetetus. Focus on the theory of forms, the Platonic ideas, as they are extremely important for Schopie.

As for Eastern stuff, most of World as Will is parallel to the theories of Atman and Brahman from the Upanishads, but the denial stuff is distinctly Buddhist. Read up on Atman and Brahman from a Hinduism perspective and then read about how it changes when Buddhism historically comes into the picture. A sourcebook in Indian philosophy will have both topics.

Start with the bandanas.

I just finished Timaeus and it's quite crap, I do not recommend it, rather read the socratic dialogues and the republic. Reading through the greeks is sometimes like willingly hitting yourself with a brick.
