Do you guys genuinely like Dune or are you too hipster?

>> No.6450969

it's a pretty simple book but yeah it's alright

Not read the sequels. Reminds me of the Conan stories in that the protagonist is a bit bland but a good vehicle for the interesting world.

I genuinely like books 1-4.

>> No.6451792

I like all six of them.

I've never read the sequels written by his son though, everyone and their mother told me they suck harder than a black hole.

i was stupid enough to go out and buy some of them.

after i'd finished, i took them down to the local park and left them on a picnic table, where the seagulls shat all over them.

when Frank Herbert wrote a character being told a friend had died, you could believe the response. it was human.

when those two idiots wrote about Duke Leto's first son dying - i swear to god - he said "NOOOOOOOOO!" just like Darth Vader.

i now devote my life to warning people away from these shit-filled abominations.

the books, not the authors. they used up most of their shit writing the books.

interestingly enough, i'm not the only person who thinks this.

I don't dislike it, but I don't like it in particualr.

>> No.6451921

What are the flaws of the sons' prequels?

>mfw Brian Herbert's Book aren't translated in Italian
>mfw living in a shitty country sometimes have some advantage

I honestly thought it was shit - and I really wanted to like it.

In his defense, he did say 'sometimes'

Even if they were, why would you make an already shitty book even shittier by reading a translation?

Oh and by the way it's "has some advantages", not "have some advantage".
