Yes, they can be seen that way. In literature doppelgangers are used by authors to explore the duality of human nature (I got this from wiki :^)). So on the one hand, Wojack is representative of the introverted 4channer, who must struggle daily against the social awkwardness and existential despair. On the other hand, Pepe, representing our innate, animalistic desires, is free of these concerns. But Pepe's lack of introspection is also the source of his unmaking. If one takes a quantitative analysis of Pepe memes, we see that 4channers portray him as a capitalist success story, who is seen snubbing Wojack for the sake of rigid conformity to societal norms (the archetypal normalfag). Yet, we also see Pepe portrayed as something of a nihilist who anthropomorphized as the Columbine shooters, or as Andrea Lubitz (the Lufthansa pilot).
