Anyone here fans of the Star Wars EU?

I'm currently reading pic related and I've pre-ordered the latest novel

This is not canon now, so it is essentially fanfiction. :^)

Darth Plagues is mentioned in Episode 3. He is Canon.

Maybe there are novel versions of the movies, but that is the only canonical stuff right now. That and I think the terrible Force Unleashed games.

Yes, he was mentioned, but not that entire novel.

Tarkin and the Lords of the Sith book that comes out on the 30th.

But honestly, nothing should be discounted until it is officially contradicted by another form of media

Only a handful of novels have been updated with the "legends" banner, and those are the 100% none canon fan-fiction

I like how Chewbacca is just staning there awkwardly, looking at the reader with a face saying "What's this all about?"

If you have a canon fetish, read Tarkin. Luceno spends like half the time just recanonising as much EU stuff as possible. It's not bad, but it's not the best of the new books either. Lords of the Sith leaked a while ago but is getting released soon, Heir to the jedi and A New Dawn came out a while ago

QUESTION
? How is the The New Rebellion Novel?
is it stand alone or have sequels or books that you need to read before hand?

>> No.6429691

why disney had to buy that franchise??
star wars is the best picture of science fiction in the word
i hope that disney dont ruin it

>> No.6429767

only one I plan on reading is "death troopers"

OP as a child I was the no1. Star Wars autist in my county. Knowing the new films are ignoring the canon is killing me. Hopefully BBY history will remain intact but my advice is to give up. I spent my youth reading the New Jedi Order series about the Yuuzhan Vong wars. Also read Pic Related, I mildly enjoyed it, it was too formulaic and predictable. My advice is to give up anon, the canon is ruined and trying to inhabit a Star Wars universe with multiple histories is going to be a nightmare.. Wait for the new films, and possibly consider suicide as your childhood is undone before your eyes.
