Let's not and say we did.

These threads are always polarized between plebs posting memeshelves (like OP's pic) full of throwaway fiction & lame steins/figurines and people losing their shit about anybody collecting books/posting book collections.

>hurr you are not your bookshelf
>durr you probably never read those

It's been this way for years. As much as I would like it if we could have serious readers (e.g. rapture) post serious book collections, there are too many underage faggots and shitposters to allow for serious discussion of book collections.

Shame because you can post a battlestation on /g/ or a library screenshot on /mu/ or a shoe collection on /fa/... but god forbid you post pictures of your books on /lit/.

A few are older books that I managed to keep, the rest are replacements to eventually refill what I've read and enjoyed and a few were gifts from someone who doesn't know my reading tastes.

>> No.6423086

>>6423071
Honestly, I did buy that.
Jodi Picoult is my guilty pleasure.

I personally prefer to read them, as I can take the time to digest things, along with the fact that some stage directors take many liberties when producing certain works.
Ibsen's 'A Doll's House' was given a completely different ending when performed early on in Germany.
This was around 100 years ago, regardless, it's an example that is far too prevalent.
I'm not saying that I don't/can't enjoy watching a play, but that I do prefer to read them.

Everyone is different, so I'd suggest you see a few for yourself, then decide.
