Can't really tell. Not even planing to touch endymion or whatever it's called.
It's worth reading if you want to 'finish' the story as it explains shit that happened in the first book, but explanation just isn't very good.
Especially after the small selfsufficient stories from the first book.

Just finished this, I rather liked it. Not as good as the first though, the Keats shit was fucking annoying. He did it pretty artfully in the first one, why did he have to go completely nuts with it…

I read somewhere that the next one takes place 200+ years later, maybe a few of the weaker characters will have fucked off already

The first book was a very straightforward, cliche, simple yet fun story about a rag-tag group of rebels trying to overthrow an evil emperor. Like Avatar, it was enjoyable despite its cliches. Also, the magic "system" is refreshingly interesting.

Book 2 was mostly boring filler.

The third book, like Korra, took quite a thematic shift from the original, turning into a forces-of-light vs forces-of-darkness struggle (hence raava and vaatu)

Book - Debt: The First 5,000 Years by D. Graeber
What I expected: A tome about the history of trade and economics between countries
What I got: A treatise on credit systems existing before money, history occurring in semi-predictable cycles, the concept of obligation to repay one's debts being linked with sin and guilt (e.g. one's unpayable debts to their creator, their predecessors, and society) and the ideal of justice (reciprocity). What happens when debts cannot be repaid? Should they always be repaid?
