Ideology is not something bad on its own, though OP and other posters make it seem like it is. You cannot erase ideology from the world, you cannot live without an ideology, in the same way that you cannot sustain to be alive without being inserted into the symbolic.

Also, ideologies don't have followers or adepts, but people who live within it. It's not an opinion or a misconception, but a relative thing that you deem as absolute. Not like something you could argue to be absolute, but something you have never even considered to be anything else from what it is.

Take one ideology out, a new one grows in its place. There is no reason to choose one ideology instead of another to purge from the world if not to make a statement on which way of thinking you oppose and keeping your own ideologies safe from being questioned.
