What is your process for reading a book?

Do you read Sparknotes of the content you've already read? Do you look up study questions that facilitate furrher, more comprehensive digestion of the content?

Personally, I write excerpts, quotes, notes, etc. in a notebook as I read. IMO, annotating in a notebook is better and more concise than annotating in the book; it makes finding a specific page/passage/quote much easier.

>read the first third of the book
>get bored
>skim the rest
>read about the plot on wikipedia
>look up some 1 star reviews on goodreads
>use those reviews as ammo for when I need to talk shit about the book on /lit/

I usually read one word and then the next one and keep doing this until I finish the book.
