That feel when drunk off vodka and tea and feeling mighty fine after a student ate you out. He even recited poetry and complimented my paintings, if he wasn't something like 5 years younger than me I think it would work, but honestly I don't even know. Its not like he will be my student for ever, just like a month and a half more, then maybe things will clear up more naturally. WHatever natural is. people base their interpretations off of their life experiences, Achebe based his off of dealing with racism and post colonialism

Conrad's portrayal of the colonies was a stark departure from the way colonies were portrayed at the time, and the decrepit conditions he portrays reveal the negative impacts of colonialism

The overall meaning of the gloom hanging over civilization, and the darkness of Africa, show that at heart man is savage, and the setting and interpretation of actions determines civility after the fact. The trip Marlow takes reveals insight into the human conscience, and shows that civilization is a facade, not something to revel in.

I went to a shitty business school. Very few writing outlets. Ethics class. Professor wages a challenge. If any of us can write a paper on a topic he's never heard before we won't have to take any of the tests, won't have to write the other 4 papers and get a perfect score for the class. I wracked my brain and wrote the paper on a dream I had about a privately funded organization synthesizing a nanobot/nano machine that could stop aging by constant revitalization on the cellular level. The argument of the paper was that no government agency could ever be allowed to have access to it because it would get out and cause disastrous overpopulation once it got out. The overall point was that the scientists involved were the only subject matter experts capable or qualified to study/handle it.I cited guidelines from the dea to the fda to homeland security to be extra through.
"The case for private sector immortality" got me an A.

Picking the Devil's flowers hasnt been written yet. its a story about war orphans and street children taken in by a merciless, gun toting alcoholic in the days following WW1. the children are indentured slaves that must bring back shells, casings and mines so the metal can be resold. bring back enough scrap and you get to eat. the devils flowers is a reference to the landmines that kill some of the children throughout the book.

Topic of discussion:

While the idea of grossly extended mortality (more than that of the average, healthy, and

unaugmented human) or sustainable immortality is only a hypothetical situation in

today’s world, the potential to achieve those conditions should not be ignored until the

time comes (however far away or near) that they are a reality. The proposed focus topic

will be “Formula X” (Or Fx for short) and the right for its creator or creators to retain its

exclusiveness in the private sector.
Formula X is an abridged definition of a man-made, synthetic, rejuvenation elixir that

floods the human body on a cellular level with hydrotherapeutic, protein-based,

nanomachines that are capable of stemming molecular degeneration on its base level.

Without cellular degeneration, the human body is protected from the effects of aging,

thus producing a state of prolonged mortality or immortality unless acted upon by an

outside event such as homicide, suicide or natural accident.
Thesis:

The object of this paper is to explore the options and parameters needed to secure the

rights of an individual or individuals to retain all rights, security, and exclusiveness of the

most sought after commodity in existence created by those individuals as they see fit

without outside pressure, coercion, and threat of repercussion (implied or otherwise)

from the government, outside parties, or influences within the continental

United States.

Dystopian book I came up with in like 2010. 14 year old Sarah lives in mid 22nd century New York. Rampant crime, unemployment, genetic clones are marching in the streets demanding equal rights. She lives in a small apt in Brooklyn with her father who is a riot cop who comes home every night bruised and with new scratches on his body armor, loveable foul mouthed grandad and a mother wasting away in cyberspace. Everything smells like tear gas. Her only comforts are a discount store where she constantly digs for pink Floyd vinyl and her pink, softball sized, hand me down, glitchy, floating A.I gigapet type thing that talks to her. (Wheatley from portal?) named "pink" should have written it before the dystopia trend started dammit

I was struggling with my fiction because two of my professors were telling me that I needed more description and exposition in my work; I felt like adding what they asked was against my style and stuck out like a sore thumb but I added it in anyway.

Eventually I got a class with a professor that was also a senior editor at a major publishing house. She thought my original work was amazing and the edited work was over written.

I felt vindicated as fuck after that.
