What's the average here? 20-30?

Only because they're counting comics, manga, and quickly-digested YA.

it's two to three and only those because high school requires them.

That's 550 pages a day. If you can't afford to read 9 hours a day (and it shouldn't take more than 9 hours to read 550 pages) you shouldn't be on this board.

This. It takes a bit more time to read the complete works of Plato than some shitty page turner genre fic.

Considerably less.

I think I've finished reading six this year so far. One was a re-read of a great book.

My excuse is that I'm a full time student and full-time worker. I could still possibly fit more reading into my life (like right now), but I'm pretty satisfied.

I depends of how much time you spend reading them.

You may be able to read more if we stop shitposting all day.
I can't, it's too late for me.
Save yourselves while you still can

Reading books is like listening to someone else thinking or talking, why would you brag about hearing a lot of people talking? especially since that the more you hear the more likely they are just spouting nonsense and b/s

>> No.6325349

I read like 15-20. I also have a job and other interests. Anyone who reads 100 books a year is just doing it so they can say they do. Or it's part of their job/education.

some of those people are e-stating. And the others are reading these short little paperbacks that are less than 200 pages. How many are 7-800+ page books?

I think I get maybe 20 on a good year. I will only have time to read all day when I am old and unable to move much.

If for every hour you're reading you are not also spending an hour researching, an hour digesting what you've read, an hour writing, and at least 15 min reading secondary literature then you might as well be reading 200+ burner books a year that leave no lasting impression cause you are most likely a perma-casual and a foreverplebe.

same here and i know a guy who studies philosophy. when we talk /phil/ i always get the impression i have a way better general idea of the history and core concepts of different /phil/ things than him. like he didn't even know about the analytic / continental dichotomy (i'm not saying it's a true or useful one, but after studying phil for 2 yrs you should have heard of it, i guess).
