For me, the coziest book I have read is Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane

>inb4 Neil Gaiman is pleb

What are some cozy books you have read and would recommend?

That book creeped me out, I've no idea how you can say it was cozy.

Well, I thought The Shining was cozy as well, so maybe I am just comforted by horror/creepy stuff.

The Alchemaster's Apprentice (cute children's book about a talking cat-thing who signs his life away to gorge on weird food for a month) and Au Rebours are pretty comfy. Both have a large focus on describing decadent and indulgent objects, which is nice.

Look up The Crane. It's a children's book in form, but it's so poetic and the characters are so beautiful that I think it's a must-read for those in the pursuit of comfy.

Related; when I was eleven, I made an account on the book's wiki so that I could write a few paragraphs about the edible organ of a fictional animal that is mentioned exactly once in the entire book.

Pic related is pretty cozy so far, just a nice boy's tale with McCarthy's prose.

Kinda surprising coming from Blood Meridian and Outer Dark.

I somehow dislike Cosmicomics. Suffers from same faults as five memos - simple things are explained too thoroughly, complications only assumed.

But Italo's mid-50s political novellas. Argentine Ants, especially A Plunge Into Real Estate and The Watcher are in my opinion some of hid best works. Plunge is just the perfect mix of realism, intellectual vanity and bits of fantasy. It reigns supremely in his oueuvre with Invisible Cities.
