Where do you turn when the only source of pride you have, the thing you based your dreams and identity around, is gone and may have never been there in the first place?

You learn that pride is for dumb people and move on. It's about what you do, not ow you think you look doing it.

oh, I think that I'm around there currently

You eventually come to realize that you were a moron for basing the entirety of your dreams, identity, and self-worth around any one skill or activity and resolve to become a wholesome person who is well rounded and multifaceted so any stumble or shortcoming in a given area of your life isn't going to be devastating.

Without pride I only have disgust for myself. I hate the things I do, every quirk I have and can never see any value in any of my accomplishments

my pride wasn't a single skill or talent. It was the idea that I had brains and potential

Well you can take solace knowing that many "successful" people have shit for brains. Find something else to live for or make the best with what you have, life goes on.

Booze and porn.

You become well-rounded, also you enjoy yourself. A lot of people forget how to do that and become obsessed with doing things just to prove themselves.

It will hurt in the meantime though, but take solace in the fact this is a really normal experience in life and a lot of people go through it.

You're still are thinking in how you're perceived or something like that, it seems logical to you but it makes no sense to a lot of people. One way you can take is realizing that you should just do what you feel righter at that time, or in the future; not wasting time thinking how you feel about inane things you do, or how you would regard someone who behaved like you, or whatever sick logic you keep falling into.

You still have potential.
