It is a book with a word game in every single line. If you like word games, you like the book.

who here has actually finished it?

Jokes aside, I've been studying the first couple pages for a few months casually, and I can say with certainty that it is the greatest piece of literature ever produced.

Hands down I agree. It is the definitive apex of literature.

Finnegans Wake. A formless and dull mass of phony folklore, a cold pudding of a book. Conventional and drab, redeemed from utter insipidity only by infrequent snatches of heavenly intonations. Detest it. A cancerous growth of fancy word-tissue hardly redeems the dreadful joviality of the folklore and the easy, too easy, allegory. Indifferent to it, as to all regional literature written in dialect. A tragic failure and a frightful bore.

I have. It's my favourite book. What I do now is mostly to read it at random, but I shall never put it down for the rest of my life.

I'm not saying that everyone should enjoy it, but not to consider it the greatest work of art known to man is to fail as the ultima patricio.

> I only read one book in my life, and even that not to completion
I dread the world where something like that is taken as a mark of 'particianness'.

For a literature board, it always manages to surprise me how many people here lack the reading comprehension to even understand the most basic of posts.
