What do you guys think about the Sword of Truth series? I started reading it when I started looking for long fantasy books about wizards. I wasn't impressed by the sixth book so I started looking up summaries and found out the main character doesn't even learn spells until the eleventh book. Now that's just horseshit. I'm thinking about just starting on the Dresden Files.

If you are looking for well paced books about wizards I would very strongly recommend The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist. If you don't like it by the end of the second book (Much, much more action packed and quicker paced than the first). then you probably won't like the rest of the series.

As for the SoT series, I was thinking of getting it for a read, but there's plenty of other fantasy books that seem a better investment of my sadly marginal reading time.
