I think that Paradise Lost is the most relevant one today, and it retains its original poetic power as it was written in Engish.
I know /lit/ likes to harp on about how Paradise Lost is shit, but once you've taken the effort to read through it, it will be evident that its equal, if not greater than the translated Dante.

As a lapsed Catholic the story of Augustine and his Manichean follies appeals to me greatly. Frankly epic poetry is overrated in my humble opinion.

La Divina Commedia is easily the best, most relevant, and enduring.

The other two books are incredibly influential, but The Divine Comedy trumps them both in terms of influence and relevance.

Confessions is the first autobiography ever. but with the two epics, I'll stay with Dante.

My English is good enough to appreciate Paradise Lost in original, but both english and my own language trasnlations of Dante leave something to be desired compared ot it.

Paradise Lost has very little cultural influence outside Anglophone countries while Comedy is immensely influential everywhere.

Confessions is mostly a work of theology, even with the autobiographical details. The other two are fiction. It's not really comparable.

Influence and relevance shouldn't be the determining factor for the best book. Especially not when all three works already are part of a well established canon.
Focusing on the actual text, and not what other people think of the text is much more interesting.
