Was referring to Reich. Hence why I quoted the reich. Would you prefer I said Four Organs, or Clapping Music, maybe Drumming, or what about Different Trains, one of his Counterpoints or perhaps Triple Quartet. I bet you reject it simply because it's conventionally beautiful.

>> No.6235567

wait guys, I've been listening to classical music since I was a teenager... these are my favorite favorite favorites:

"La Mort d'Ophelie" by Berlioz:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4F6VcyboKc

Art of Fugue Contrapunctus IX (Glenn Gould)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAU4EGgfGm0

(proceed to the next track if you enjoyed Contrapunctus IX. If not, skip next track)

WTC book 2 B Minor Fugue
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryu7WcPV7fg

Debussy Cello/Piano Sonata in c minor

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pmZRV3qRlA
But the Berlioz piece is my favorite of all time. There's an orchestral version as well. I think I've heard this piece a few hundred times!

I liked him a lot when I first got into classical music (the piano quintet, some of the more boisterous quartets and symphonies), but now I find a lot of his work embarrassingly immature. I think he's good for getting kids started on classical music, but I find it hard to imagine anyone really going crazy for him even after years of listening to the same pieces over and over again (for me those feelings are directed more toward Bach, Faure, Schumann [songs only], and Scarlatti).

Oh forgot to say, however, I still think his 13th quartet is nothing short of perfection. It makes me cream my panties.

Yeah okay.
Listen to Aguas de Amazonas, Akhnaten, Einstein on the Beach (1979), Songs From Liquid Days, Koyaanisqatsi, and Mishima, get some taste in minimal music, and take the stick out of your ass that causes you to dislike Glass because he's popular.

Literally Simpsons-tier 'I'm so hip' opinion.
