The Artemis Fowl series.

Like, no like?

Bonus points for describing why you hate it rather than "shit sux lol."

My input: Pic related, it made me almost ill with glee whenever Artemis pulled off a master plan. Particularly in the fourth volume, post-memory erasure, with the bank heist. Shit was excellent.

There have been some really low points. I thought Eternity Code was a bit full of fail, because of the altruistic shit Artemis kept pulling for no reason, but it was okay.

The only other sub-par volume was the book in which the demons were introduced--the "villain" was shittily conceived. "I will show the world that magic is a new form of energy!" Really?

Time Paradox was fun.

all in all pretty good 7.5/10
agree with the reason for your pic
sorry didn't like the time displacement

I read the first book when I was like 12.

I don't remember anything about it.. were there fairies or something?

yes, but they were very militant, or at the very least violent

>> No.621393

sorry, violently inclined

I've read the first four and enjoyed them. Are the following ones worth reading as well?

Any intelligent individual born in the 90's read, and loved, Artemis Fowl. Fact.

>> No.621418

Liked them all through Opal Deception. Lost Colony was mostly meh and I haven't even gotten to Time Paradox.

Anyone else rage at Root's death?

Very much so! I was so sure that Colfer was going to bring him back with some transdimensional twist.

That probably would have made me rage harder. I was okay with it by the end of Opal Deception and had gotten over it by the end of Lost Colony. It just would have messed with me if he came back.

Loved the first two, but I hated the third volume (I really can't remember why), so I dropped the series.

That's a shame because the fourth one ties into the second one quite nicely. If all you remember about the second one is that Artemis and Butler get their memories wiped, you'll be fine.

my face when Holly went back in time and talked to him, but couldn't say anything because she would have unraveled reality
