How is my to-read list, /lit/?

>> No.6186460

Nice hand writing and note taking aesthetic. You are creating an unrealistic expectation for what notes should look like and its triggering me etc.

list looks good. Usually I stick reread stuff at the bottom and only call upon it if im feeling drained and need to return to something, for i find the second reading far more easy, especially if you took notes the first time.

Looks like a very enriching list though.

Are you seriously trying to garner interest from others this...severely?

"Shakespeare"?

Yeah; okay.

P.S.: "Finnegan's Wake" (sic.)

Serious question:

How did people figure out what to books were the right ones to read before the Internet? Especially seeing as Kerouac would still have been in high school when he wrote that

It's good to find an outline of history in your teens, and this is a very absorbing way of doing it.

Yet it seems like it's very Uncomfortably blocked off between 19th Century Nationalism and early 20th Century Globalism. A teenager just can't relate Homer, Pope Innocent III, or Shakespeare to the Bible. Memory and correlation are the two main elements of great original authors, I believe.

Additionally, it's too bad that we don't give out Commonplace books to kids so that they can record great quotations which they've heard.

Teachers, books talking about how great so-and-so writer is, newspapers referencing them, libraries, etc.
