The possibility of sin is the only way for us to not be robots to love and serve god. Choosing something is a lot more powerful than literally having to do it. Man was created with curiosity and therefor the potential for evil. Because of this, choosing to do good and avoiding sin is made something up to us. The people who don't want God are not forced to be with him (that is how much he loves us!) and the people who want him are free to have him. Do you see the beauty in it, anon?

hell is modernly just defined as "where god isn't"

so a hellish afterlife might be like the inferno, it might not, life can be hellish, it might not, but it is by choice that you wish to distance yourself from god and go "where god isn't", whatever such a place may entail

Hell is eternal torment because you're separated from the source of all love. It's not exactly that you're sent there, as the illustrative language implies, it's that you chose to not accept freely given love even when faced with the eternity of afterlife.

But the Qur'an is easily the best Abrahamic scripture, though, and its influence produced directly and indirectly the best of the Abrahamic, Western, and Middle-Eastern traditions.

Your whole phraseology, which I guess works on those who buy into "Illustrative Language" wither they want to or not, is the result of the fact that god can call anything love, and it remains "love" regardless of wither humans consider it so, they are free however to liken it to whatever their extant idea of love is, also.

That's not incorrect. The love of God also ignites the fires of hell, so divine love is certainly different than, say, familial love. It's a love so strong that to ignore it or deny it is painful.

Whitman? Really? He was the only good thing to come of that movement. If anything, that knucklehead Thoreau is the prime candidate.

It also means you can never honestly say god is loving to any other human and not be lying to them.
