You don't need to into Derrida. He's really not that interesting. At heart Derrida is an irrationalist, so on one level there's really nothing to understand. Derrideans are such because they get into his style of exposition. But there's never really any arguments or points to be made. He's an epigone of Heidegger. Not really worth investing any time in. I once took a class with a professor who used to knew Derrida and he was totally into him. The class was a total bust. I would just sit there rolling my eyes all lecture, occasionally blurting out some autistic shit about how the professor was all wrong.

Funny thing is that by the end of the semester I was his favorite student because I was the only one who really got agitated by what he said.
