Is "Just because X, doesn't mean Y." grammatically correct?

sounds good to me

Both are dependent clauses, though. Is that allowed?

>> No.6183772

the comma isn't necessarily needed
Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I want to suck your dick.

idk i just know it sounds good so it's right

Another way to rephrase that is "Even though something caused me to be gay, it did not cause me to want to suck your dick." This is not identical to the way people use it; It lacks any implication of your homosexuality being caused by something.

*change the first "it" to "Just because X doesn't mean Y."
