What does the Man Booker Prize mean to Americans? I mean, the prize is fucking huge for English speaking authors, but recipients are only in the Commonwealth, so no American could win it.

But when you see a Peter Carey novel (one of only two authors to win it twice) or Ian McEwan, does the Booker Prize mean anything to you? Cause everywhere else it sells books.

Well, I'm sure there are a lot of Americans who did read Life of Pi, Midnight's Children and The English Patient.

I don't read books based on the awards they won. I read them for their content.
