I just read the essay pic related. First dfw I finished reading. My question is this lit: I don't like reading 1000 pages of post modern bullshit. But I do like short essays that pithily castigate the modern consumer culture. What should I read next?

Because Infinite Jest is an incredible novel?

The thing is with memes is that, take /mu/'s neutral milk hotel. They make jokes and shit but that is just because they love them so much. When something brings such strong emotions you have to make jokes in order to bring it back to an understandable level
