Whatever was a pretty good commentary on the vacuity of life in general. They might depress you. He writes his novels with a particular futile realism you probably have never encountered in litereature

I just finished "Atomised" a couple of days ago. I really liked it, even though it made me feel very depressed at times, and I've intended to buy more of his books in the near future. He's certainly 21 century's Celine. Only his writing-style is surprisingly conventional.
