Be honest /lit/
How big is your .txt of stolen anon's ideas?
Almost 800kb here.

>> No.6049492

That's not nice, man. You do that?
People aren't gonna think /lit/'s a safe place and they won't share if it's known anons do this kinda shit. I'm disappointed in you.

None I have a million great ideas I'm just to lazy to write them. Hard to muster up that will power working 6 days a week

>someone steals my idea and writes a 70k - 100k word novel.

>sue and whinge about plagiarism.

If your books hinges on a few lines of greentext not being leaked to other losers on 4chan then I won't be that excellent anyway. What could possibly be spilled in one single post? I must be some vain irrelevant fantasy shit about how your world is toroid, or everyone rides one winged lions or something.

>> No.6049642

>>6049488
my own .txts (plural) are going strong, thank you, but none of them include anons' ideas (aside from perhaps, indirectly, a couple derivative lines)
because these ideas are pretty much always shit

(sorry fellow anons)

I stole the idea behind this post

>> No.6049681

I'll just pick something at random from my file of stolen ideas:

>A Kafkaesque story about a series of archers guarding the walls of a city Attack of Titans style from unspeakable monstrosities. Obviously they never find out the source of what they're fighting against and maintain a constant status quo.

Oh man, startlingly original. The value of this file (and the excerpts within) isn't that each one is a roadmap of literary success, but rather that as a whole they're good writing prompts for when you're stuck for something to write about.

Give this excerpt Stephanie Myers and Cormac McCarthy and each would write a pair of startlingly different novels which would bear little to no resemblance to the other. Were I to write something based on this prompt, I wouldn't for a second feel bad for the original poster, nor would I ever fear any accusation of plagiarism, because three lines of text isn't a finished novel.

>> No.6049717

>>6049646
Not the concepts, just the whinging cucks who think their precious little excerpt has any value as intellectual property. It must be some kind of transference, the poster thought and strained and worked so hard just to come up with a barebones idea that it has the value of completed work in his mind.

I'm sorry you just don't get it.
Not even trolling you here and I've never shared my ideas on /lit/, but you should get some help. If you think this is justifiable or decent behavior to your neighbor-to your brothers and sisters-you should get help. It's not a healthy way of thinking or being.

>> No.6049809

>>6049761
'You just don't get it' isn't a valid response. Justify your position, or admit that your only problem with keeping a folder of writing prompts generated by other people is some finicky: "He might steal my idea and make something better than me!" insecure gut reaction.

Or don't. I assume that image means you've fled rather than engage in discourse.

Aren't all stories and ideas sort of intrinsic to humanity anyway? They stem from religion, philosophy and politics... Hence why all great reading lists start with the Bible, Plato, Homer, Aristotle, etc.

Here's a bit of assorted stuff, mostly /lit/-related, from the folder "Inspiration and rubbish", if anyone's interested. I've "stolen" a bit of it, but I change enough of it for it to be completely unrecognisable, which I suppose means it hardly counts as stealing.

I do this but I write them down in my notebook. Actually got pointed to Heidegger by sharing one of these posts with people I know, and got a few chuckles out of a nietzschean acquaintance by using the word "uberwench" (stolen from here).

/lit/ is underrared.
