I do find the idea interesting that basic concepts of life seem to spread in different ways and attain more or less credibility for reasons that are difficult to perceive. The ideas espoused in OP comic seem to be widely seen as compelling, at least for those who reject religion, but why is that so? What is it about these times that leads us to these ideas?
