What does /lit/ think of this book?
Did it make you wanna eat cacti?
Any recommendations on what to read next?

I havnt read it but I have heard its enjoyable

I would recommend reading Island. In it Huxley fleshes out his vision of how an ideal society would function and the role psychedelics would play in that, its pretty interesting.

I think 300-400 years from now if things havnt gone to shit people will still be reading it and thinking about whether and how it could be used as guidelines or as an inspiration to model society

Surely want to try mescaline.

It was a nice trip report and a couple of cool thoughts/expressions, he should have taken a larger dose though.

Fun fact: this book was named after a poem by William Blake. The band "The Doors" were named after the book.

the more you know

It wasn't as interesting as I hoped it would be. Now, that might just be because I expected it to be a handbook for exploring the unconscious, not a trip report. Or it might be because I read the whole thing in one sitting (though it isn't too terribly long, iirc). Either way, I plan on reading it again at some point in the future.

Dude stated facts previously unknown to me, which I therefore could incorporate into my substantial knowledge on substance abuse.
