The most effective and in-depth analysis on human social dynamics -- by far -- has to be Erwing Goffman's "The presentation of Self in Everyday Life". You can find it in most academic book shops in the Sociology section.
Its a very detailed analysis of the ways in which human beings interact. Its laconic, thorough and reads like nothing like it. The basis is his study of the islanders of shetland. It relies on the analogy of theater and drama to explain various types of phenomena.
I highly recommend it.
