ITT: Why does /lit/ hate Mitch Albom?

I haven't been around longer than a year and a half, but I don't remember seeing hate for him. Personally, I rather enjoyed the five people you meet in heaven and tuesdays with morrie when I read them at age 13 or so and would recommend them for a young reader still. Not sublime in any kind of literary or artistic sense, might not ever be classics, but fun and thought-provoking for the lesser developed mind of my youth.

I enjoyed Tuesdays with Morrie, but I haven't read the rest of his books. He seems fairly good though.

I went to his book signing (First Phone Call from Heaven). He mostly talked about Tuesday's With Morrie though. But he's a legitimately good person and his literature is above avg.

R-right, /lit/?

Tuesdays with Morrie was legitimately the worst book I've ever read.
