Yeah I left the Iliad out on purpose. I feel it pales in comparison to The Odyssey but I know this isn't exactly a popular opinion. Probably should've put it on there.

No, there are far greater literary examples in the Bible than that shite

Ecclesiastes & Ecclesiasticus ,Songs of Solomon,Proverbs,Revelations ,Solomon s Testament and Psalms are much better to choose

You're missing The Sorrows of Young Werther,Thus spoke Zarathustra ,The Adventures of Tom Bombadli ,The Stranger,The Metamorphosis and The Trial

Ecclesiastes alone is the only book that needs to be read in the Bible. It reduces everything to the baseless and trival except for love of God, friendship, and party time.

Get rid of these memes. If you want an American book go with Leaves of Grass.
Beckett is better than Joyce.

Moby Dick isn't a meme. I'm not even sure why you're saying that, have you read it? Melville is America's best author, he and Whitman aren't even comparable.

As for Joyce, I'll just assume you jumped on the /lit/ against-the-grain bandwagon

If you don't count the Epics as "books" then it would without a doubt be Don Quixote.

There may be a book as good as it written in the future, but when compared to the state of literature at the time Don Quixote was written and how much of influence it had nothing will ever have as much significance.
