You have to understand nuances in Nietzsche. There's at least two or three types of asceticism for Nietzsche, I'd say even more.
One type appears because we are too weak to control and organize our desires and pleasures, we're too horny to *not* destroy ourselves, so we have to deny them, there's basically no choice for us here. E.g. Christianity, but he also mentions Socrates as creating the idea of "mind" or "reason" in order to slow down the decadence of his time, moving their attention away from the body to the soul.
The other type of asceticism is merely a tool to give few selected drives all the power and energy at the expense of others. Somewhere he mentions artists as people who should not have a lot of sex so that they are pumped up with that energy which then explodes into their works.
(There's also the third conception of asceticism where it serves the philosopher and his thinking life. You move away from outward pleasures and excitements, you establish a routine that seems boring on the outside, in order to be able to concentrate on your own thoughts where you're creating new worlds and values, possibly for future generations. I think this applies to Nietzsche himself a bit.)
