Also, state where you are from, since I allways thought this novel would loose a lot of its value if you dont live in Latin America.

One of my favorite reads. I'm from California, USA. I liked it more than Memoirs of my Melancholy Whores and Love in the Time of Cholera. What else do you recommend from him?

I have loved EVERYTHING that I have read from this man. I have Solitude lined up next, and the last was Memories of My Melancholy Whores.

From Tennessee for what it is worth.

I love it. I'm from Argentina so I guess it helps you prove nothing.

Most of the stuff Ive read from him is due to school curriculum. That being said, I loved everything I have read that he's done. Chronica de una muerte anunciada was simply amazing in terms narrative and told a great story in a very interesting way. Relato de un neufrago is extremely interesing and very detailed, plus it being 100% factual makes it much better. If you like things like Life of Pi, you will probably enjoy that one too. Ojos de perro azul is without a doubt the most macabre read I ever found. Its so engaging and descriptive, yet at thesame time, it describes things you would never relate to in life.

Go look up the english names yourself, Im too lazy

Just finished reading this today and thought it was pretty great. I didn't have any trouble keeping the characters apart, which a lot of people I know that read it bitched about. Also I kind of thought it ended abruptly.

From Missouri

If you prefer 100 Years to those two you'll probably really like his collection Innocent Erendira & Other Stories, it's the same sort of style.

its not hard to get lost with the names once you get used to it. But it certainly was very off putting when I started reading it.

Also, The ending of te book reminds me a lot of synecdoche new york.

I'm in the middle of Love In The Time of Chloera, and despite it's ghey title, I'm really, really into it. I'm going to read a couple more of his novels/SS collections after this one. He is a fantastic writer.
