That is kind of impressive, I'd like to read it, but I don't see the Silmarillion as an illuminated manuscript in this celtic-gospel sense. Bilbo wrote it down as an appendix to his memoir, he was not some monk fellating the holy Logos all day. He just set that shit out as he translated it. And you wouldn't expect the Noldor to be the type to glorify their history either, they are essentially a dead civilization slowly dwindling away to the netherworld as a result of what they've done and can't really look back on their past with pride.
