Also, at least to me, a shocking amount of people haven't learned emotional regulation. Nietzsche wasn't just being a cheeky cunt when he talked about Russian fatalism. Most shit is petty and a knee jerk reaction to a minor change in status quo. Anger and hate are intoxicants, strong medicine that can help one in overcoming strong foe. Or dangerous poison. You'll be constantly frustrated if you don't believe in the notion of a dose.

That and the anti-anxiety pills have really helped in focusing my mind.

There really aren't. Not any debates which are better than doing real research online.
Same with books, if you want recs and just recs, there are much simpler and efficient ways to find the type of book you want than post a thread asking for a rec, get shitposted about greeks and ebin for 25 minutes and then get 1 or 2 relevant posts... maybe

I feel like it's been worse lately than it used to be. Just look at the Joyce thread. Joyce was a Christian, so it turned into some shitposter whining about Christians and trying to turn it into another "prove god's real" debate thread, and nobody could just not respond to him or leave it alone. When it's not shit like that, it's pseudo "Traditionalists" posting philosophy attempts that always sound like it came out of a half-assed comic book and more people unable to just ignore it. Almost everyone here is just looking for a way to argue about something and prove themselves right, but barely any people here have read anything relating to what they're arguing about, so it just becomes stubborn shitposting and the same arguments being repeated over and over.
