No, not really.

If you're willing to overlook its creationist evangelical religious agenda it's an okay survival story, but I even then I would recommend "In the Heart of the Sea" or "Endurance" instead, which not only don't have a ham-fisted message about religion but have the added benefit of being actual true stories.

This part annoyed me. The narrator is just like "oh, I am going to seek out truth in all religions because spirituality, fuck yeah, also look at me, guys, look how enlightened I am trying to become!" To which my thoughts while reading this book consisted of "Seriously, fuck you."
